Due to the latest developments, we regret to inform you that the conference, with an active political and environmental title, will not be able to take place at the end of May, as we had planned. The Conference date will be rescheduled and it will be announced, hopefully before the end of 2020. As for the procedure of the Conference, it will remain in the same philosophy that was announced. about the conference
1st International Conference: Energy Policy and Environment
In an era where energy production is an important factor in economic growth, energy policy (both nationally and internationally) has been the subject of debate and decisive decisions for modern society. In our region, a new era free from the use of lignite is needed to come and therefore new energy technologies must be proposed.
On the basis of the above, the conference's proposals on energy policies and environmental strategies are key factors in developing a viable proposal for the transition to the new era of energy production. The gap between the Academic Community and State bodies can be filled by this Conference. We are also providing the opportunity to present scientific papers related to the conference's topics.
In the context of our University's extroversion and the promotion of your scientific work, we announce the 1st International Conference on Energy Policy and Environment (1st I.C.E.P.E.) that will take place at the premises of the University of Western Macedonia during the period 29-31 May 2020.
The Conference will take place in three different regions of the wider region: Kozani, Siatista and Ptolemaida, and it will cover the following topics:
◾ Fossil fuels with a focus on hydrocarbons,
◾ Climate change,
◾ Natural Gas Production,
◾ Renewable Energy sources,
◾ Biomass use,
◾ Legal Framework for Energy Investments,
◾ Civil Protection,
◾ Health and environment,
◾ Primary energy use of primary sector,
◾ Human resource management in the field of energy production,
◾ Educational policy and energy development,
◾ Energy Investment and environment,
◾ Carbon capture technology.
◾ Waste management in energy production
◾ The environmental dimension of the European Union's energy policy
◾ The field of energy research etc.
